1. What is Khairkha Cultural and Development Organization (KKCDO)?

KKCDO is a humanitarian and development organization established in 2021, dedicated to empowering women, protecting children, improving health, advancing education, and promoting cultural development across Afghanistan.

KKCDO operates in six provinces: Faryab, Balkh, Jawzjan, Kunduz, Badakhshan, and Kabul. It also has the capacity to expand its activities nationwide to reach underserved and vulnerable communities.

KKCDO’s focus areas include Women Empowerment, Child Protection, Health and Nutrition, Education and Capacity Building, Cultural Development, and Peacebuilding.

KKCDO is led by Executive Director Ms. Hadia Ebrahimi, a woman leader with extensive experience in development, cultural initiatives, and humanitarian work.

How does KKCDO support women’s empowerment?

KKCDO empowers women by providing leadership training, vocational skills development, support for women-led businesses, advocacy for gender equity, and promoting women’s active participation in social and economic life.

KKCDO plans to implement clean water projects, disaster prevention initiatives, economic development programs, capacity-building training for youth and women, and advocacy campaigns on girls’ education and gender equity.

Yes, KKCDO has a strong network of over 150 volunteers and women’s groups across 15 provinces. It also collaborates with community councils and religious scholars to ensure that its programs are culturally appropriate and community-driven.

Yes, KKCDO is an active member of several networks including the Afghanistan Women Network (AWN), ACBAR, Child Protection Action Network (CPAN), the UN Afghanistan Protection Cluster, and the UN GBV Sub-Cluster, among others.
